2016/2017 Cherry season update

The start of this season has proved to be difficult with the lack of sunshine so far and quite a wet Christmas & New Year period, including 30mm of rain on the 29th of December followed up by 10mm on the 1st of January, as well as a few showers in between to keep the trees wet.

As a result the cherry crop is quite damaged as well as being late due to the lack of sunshine to ripen the fruit.

We are still assessing when the cherries will be ripe enough to pick, and be able to pick enough “good” cherries to keep up with the demand of the postal orders.

We will add a new post when things are about to get underway, in the meantime you can keep an eye on our Facebook page for updates as well “Woodstock Cherries Huon Valley Tasmania”

Regards,

Mike, Carmel & Andrew
