Woodstock Orchards cherry season update
This is an update on when we will open our website for online cherry orders.
When we upgraded our website we purposely closed it off to orders until we hit the button to open the site, this stopped people ordering cherries out of season, which has happened in the past.
As the site is not open customer accounts can not be created yet either, which prompted some emails enquiring about this.
We also put the “Cherry Clock” on the home page so everyone will know when the webpage will open. The start date can be changed as we get more of an idea as to when the season will start hence the original date of the 29th Dec was moved to the 1st Jan, which also prompted some emails from people thinking they had missed out!
If you are following us on Facebook you will have noticed that the season has just started but we haven’t opened up the website for interstate orders for a couple of reasons;
1. Our early cherries were effected by rain in November and hence their quality & quality is not to the standard we would like to enable them to survive the postal system & arrive interstate in good condition.
2. The way that the season has started combined with the way that weekends/public holidays have fallen over the Christmas/New Year period has made posting with the guarantee that the cherries will arrive before the weekend really difficult. Cherries and warm post offices over the weekend are not a good combination!
So, after all that…online orders will start on the 1st Jan 2018!!
We will open the website on the evening of the 31st Dec to start taking orders.
We expect there to be quite a flurry of orders initially, but again the public holiday system is against us posting as we will only post on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday to guarantee delivery before the weekend.
With Monday being a public holiday, this means no posting and also there will be limited people picking & packing cherries on the farm as well, so posting will only be on Tuesday & Wednesday next week.
Orders will be picked, packed & posted on a first come first serve basis. We will ask that people are patient as we expect there will be a backlog of orders that will overflow into the following weeks postage.
Once we have confirmation of orders on the website, they will be placed in a queue and sent out as quickly as possible. We would ask people to consider this when placing orders if they are planning to be away from their delivery address while the backlog of orders is being worked through.
We apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused, but unfortunately the contributing factors are beyond our control.
Hoping everyone had a merry Christmas & wishing everyone a safe & happy New Year.
Regards,
Mike, Carmel & Andrew
