Kordia is back in 2018!!
After a 2 year hiatus Kordia has produced enough cherries again this year for us to offer for sale to our customers via our website.
For those that don’t know, Kordia is a variety considered a premium cherry in the international market and is highly sought after the world over due to its unique characteristics.
Kordia is classed as a black cherry because of the deep colour of its skin and flesh, it is a heart shaped fruit and has an outstanding flavour like no other cherry that we grow.
All our production is usually shipped overseas because of the low volume produced, the high demand and premium price paid for Kordia.
Kordia is very hard to grow in any volume in Australia and Tasmania’s cold winter this year has helped us produce good quality cherries (Kordia is one of our smallest producing varieties at 0.8% of all Woodstock’s production).
While not being quite as big as we would like, they will still have the unique Kordia taste and in a Woodstock tradition where we like to keep some of our best cherries in Australia for Australians to enjoy we will be offering Kordia for sale again this year.
This is only the second time in 10 years that we have made Kordia available to our customers!!
Kordia will be available from approx. 10th to the 15th of January.
We will post again 2 days before we will open up Kordia as an option in our shopping cart, and it will be closed as soon as we are sold out…if you snooze you loose!!
A 2kg box express posted will cost $60
If you would like to to develop your cherry expertise you are welcome to purchase one of the most sought after varieties in the world, grown in some of the best cherry growing country in the world and have a “Kordia experience”!!!
